KargoMaster Window Guard Compatible With KargoMaster Full Size Truck Racks
To complement its wide range of racks for trucks of various sizes, KargoMaster also offers a number of accessories. These accessories include load dividers, utility hooks, front bar wind deflector, mounts for emergency light and emergency light bars as well as for coolers, additional crossbars, rear legs with mount, bed rails (full length), and window guards, among others.
Two Variations of the Window Guard
KargoMaster offers two variations of its window guard product bearing part number 31080. One variation is compatible with KargoMaster's PRO II truck racks; the second variation is compatible with KargoMaster's Pro III truck ladder racks. In particular, the two variations of the window guards are designed to be used with Pro II and Pro III ladder racks; further these window guards will not fit mid sized trucks nor will they fit mini sized trucks. The window guards are specifically made for use with full size trucks only. One other point to note is that it will not be possible to use these window guards with trucks having camper shells.
If the window guard has to be used with Pro III ladder racks, an additional component bearing part number 31080C will be needed. This component is an adapter bracket that is needed to affix the window guard's lower portion to the Pro III's high strength tubing of diameter 1 5/8 inches.
About the Window Guards – Their Purpose and Their Composition
As the name suggests, a window guard is used to protect a window of a truck; in this case, the rear window is the one that is the subject of protection. However, protecting the window is not the only purpose of these window guards. In addition, when the load being born is heavy, these guards prevent the bed of the truck from spreading; and they also act as headache racks. The material used to manufacture these guards is reinforced rolled steel (16 gauge).
